2017 is shaping up to be a major year for curvy fashion. Last post we talked about GabiFresh's eighth (yes, eighth!) collab with Swimsuits for All, one of the largest online swimwear distributors. And now digital influencer, model and all around fly girl Nadia Aboulhosn has just dropped her very own private label collection. And you thought Christsmas was over.
If you have been following Nadia since her .blogspot days, you know that launching her own clothing line was the ultimate goal and in a way this move feels almost like a shared accomplishment for us fans. After spearheading collections for brands like BooHoo and Additional Elle, we've been waiting for Nadia to bless us with a vision that was entirely her own, and this capsule collection is just that.
The seven piece capsule features Nadia's signature neutral pallet and Instagram baddie silhouettes like this high slit satin duster. The pieces are named after important people in her life like the Christine Dress, named after her mother, and the Shevah bodysuit, named after her ride or die bestie.
A woman of the people, Nadia informed us via Instagram that the line will be "shipping everywhere" and the sizing is from "size Small through 3x until [she] can fund to expand another size up". She also let us in to the fact that there were no investors for this launch; this passion project was entirely funded by her work modeling, blogging and slaying us all.
Nadia's unique vision and commitment to diversity in a way that is almost impossibly seamless, is a presence that is so necessary in this industry. We need more people like Nadia to shake things up and get these mega brands considering options that are outside of the norm.
