I may not be headed back to school any time soon (grad school is a long term goal of mine, thank you very much) but September will always mean it's time to go shopping for fall clothing.  In the Fall Style 101 series I'll be serving up a round up of different wardrobe staples at affordable prices.

A button down denim shirt is a super versatile must have.  Dress it up or down, play with different lengths and washes; the options are endless.  Check out the options below along with a few styling tips along the way.

Going for the denim on denim look?  Be sure to mix it up with different washes for the top and bottom.  An acid wash or light denim button down shirt is a perfect base.  Try pairing with a denim pencil shirt or distressed skinny jeans.  

Looking to try something a little different?  Belt a longer, tunic style denim shirt and pair with wet look leggings and booties.  Or layer an oversized denim shirt over a graphic tee for a laid back look.
